Disc herniations and disorders are the most common problems in the spine. In spite of that conservative treatment, surgery is still widely used for treatment of disc problems.
Microsurgery is still gold standard in disc surgery, but it has many disadvantages. Because of this, many alternative techniques have been developed. UBE surgery is one of these alternative techniques for the microdiscectomy technique. In this lecture disc pathologies, surgical indications and UBE techniques are presented with accompanying video content.
