What you will cover in this lecture
This lecture is about spinal balance, beginning with the basics of what is defined as spinal balance, and an explanation of the terms "sagittal" and "coronal balance". The calculation of pelvic incidence, pelvic tilt and sacral slope is explained, followed by an explanation of the pathological imbalance states, as well as the compensatory mechanisms the body uses to remain in balance. Finally, the correction figures which the surgeon is expected to achieve while working on the problems in these patients is covered.
