What you will cover in this lecture
This spine surgery lecture looks at the three-dimensional structure of spinal deformities. The global mechanics of the deformed spine are considered, and in vivo assessment of spine stiffness as anatomical and tissue alterations are discussed in detail. This is followed by a look at the mechanical principles which are employed in the correction of spine deformities. The finite element model for future research and surgical planning of deformities is also discussed.
