Lecture: Diagnosis and Management of Intradural Extramedullary Tumours
Surgery is the gold standard treatment for intradural extramedullary tumours. The results of surgery for these tumours are usually excellent, however in patients with multiple tumours the surgery is not a curative but a palliative option. Giant tumours are usually a considerable surgical challenge and should be approached in a multidisciplinary team.
Lecture: Epidemiology, Diagnosis and Management of Intramedullary Spinal Cord Tumours
This spine surgery lecture covers the epidemiology of the most common intramedullary spinal cord tumours, the clinical features of intramedullary spinal tumours, diagnostic options as well as differential diagnosis.
Lecture: Management of Residual Spinal Tumours
The lecture begins with a summary of the importance and recurrence rate of intramedullary tumours, covering the types of tumours that have the potential need for revisional surgery. The challenges of revisional surgery and treatment strategies are discussed with surgical cases of different types of tumours. The importance of planning ahead is emphasised and treatment options are discussed.
