Lecture: Epidemiology, Diagnosis and Management of Ependymoma of the Spine
This spine surgery lecture is about the epidemiology and surgical treatment of ependymoma of the spine, which is the most common primary tumour of the spine in adults. The lecture begins with an overview of the origin and nature of ependymomas, followed by a discussion of the epidemiology and incidence of this type of tumour. The pathology, classification and clinical features of ependymomas are then described and the surgical resection of ependymomas is covered in detail. The lecture concludes with a summary of the prognosis of this type of tumour after surgical treatment.
