The Spine Surgery Education Programme contains 180 Spine Surgery Lectures, and contains Specialist Certificates and the full Postgraduate Diploma in Spine Surgery. The eccElearning Faculty is made up of over 140 expert spine surgeons and educators. Lecture: Osteotomies of the Spine for Adult Deformity Correction
This lecture, written and narrated by Dr Azmi Hamzaoglu, the application of various spinal osteotomies in the correction of adult deformity are discussed, starting with the routinely used osteotomies including Ponte, Smith Peterson, pedicle subtraction and posterior vertebral correction osteotomy. The preoperative evaluation for correct assessment and selection of level and technique are discussed, and each osteotomy is described in detail using diagrams to highlight each critical stage.
