This CME-accredited short spine course gives a comprehensive overview of the whole spectrum of the different forms of spondylolisthesis as a special expression of spinal deformities in the adult patient as well as in children and adolescents (growing spine) and to become familiar with the necessary clinical evaluations, imaging and surgical treatment modalities.

This course allows paediatricians, paediatric orthopaedic surgeons, paediatric surgeons, physical medicine specialists, rheumatologists and radiologists focussing on spine, and general physicians, to accurately evaluate and treat patients and advise them and their family about the long-term prognosis and treatment principles.

The learning objectives of this course are:

  • To know the natural history, risk factors, pathophysiology, key diagnostic elements, and classification, of spondylolisthesis
  • To select the appropriate imaging modality for the suited case and understand radiological findings
  • The proper evaluation of imbalance caused and state of other structures using imaging modalities
  • Importance of restoration of lumbar lordosis and sagittal balance
  • Selection of patients for performing reduction and fusions vs in situ fusions
  • To know the indications and limitations of various techniques and surgical options, along with the typical outcomes and complications
