This CME-accredited short spine course gives a comprehensive overview of the specific spine pathology in the context of tuberculosis in many countries where this disease is often endemic.

This course allows the surgeon, family practitioner, general internist, and medical professionals, to make a proper diagnosis on the base of an in-depth clinical examination and imaging procedures and to inform the patients and their families accurately about the prognosis and the risks of the their treatment choice.

The learning objectives of this course are:

  • Know the current epidemiology, the pathophysiology and it’s effects, and the typical clinical features of spinal tuberculosis and their pathogenic mechanisms.
  • Know the appropriate investigations, the principles of medical management, and treatment options in the diagnosis and treatment of spinal tuberculosis.
  • Know the principles, indications and different surgical approaches for the surgical management of spinal tuberculosis.
